Direct resin restorations can be used effectively to treat anterior malpositioned teeth. This treatment may be necessary following orthodontic treatment to correct residual tooth size and shape discrepancies. This presentation will cover the principles necessary for proper communication between the orthodontist and the restorative dentist for proper tooth positioning when post orthodontic restorations are necessary. It will also provide guidelines for creating illusions of alignment with direct resins both through selective tooth structure removal and proper resin placement techniques without orthodontics. A conservative emphasis will be placed on treatment options.
