Crown lengthening is a general term that describes procedures involved to increase the clinical crown height for prosthodontic and aesthetic reasons. The indications of crown lengthening are various and will influence the surgical technique to be used. Additional considerations should also be taken when an aesthetic zone is involved. Pre- and Post-operative care is also important to achieve the desired outcome.
