Description

Dental panoramic tomography, also known as “OPG, pan, pano, DPT, …” is a common imaging tool in dentistry. However, interpretation of tomographic images of the dentomaxillofacial complex can be challenging. Therefore, understanding the principles of tomography is essential. During this lecture contains numerous images to explain the theory behind the technique, anatomy and pathology.

Learning Objectives

  • The attendee will have an understanding of the principles of tomography and dental panoramic tomography in particular.
  • The attendee will obtain an expert level with regard to interpretation of dental panoramic tomographic images.
  • The attendee will be able to explain and distinguish ghost images seen in dental panoramic tomographic images.
