Description

Digital technology for dental application is expanding at a rapid rate with the proliferation of multiple new systems, materials, and treatment workflows. The presentation will focus attention on comparisons of current systems with the aim to understanding their capability and clinical application for efficient implementation in private practice. Two major categories will be discussed, Digital Impression systems and Chair-side CAD/CAM systems as well as material and restorative capabilities. Current scientific evidence on the clinical outcomes of these innovative workflows will be discussed with the intent to provide guidance for practice integration.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The participant shall be able to understand the differences in equipment and functions for digital impression systems and chairside CAD/CAM systems.
The participant shall be able to understand the variety of clinical applications for both digital impression and chairside CAD/CAM systems.
The participant will have an understanding of current clinical research evidence as it relates to clinical outcomes with digital impression and chairside CAD/CAM systems.
The participant will be able to understand the elements for integrating chairside CAD/CAM systems into a practice.
